Can I recommend universal healthcare to you? I think you should look into it, America. Down there I would have had so much stress it's ridiculous and I probably would have dealt with my sore throat on my own. Here, though, everything is taken care of! I didn't have to pay for my doctors visits, I didn't have to pay for my prescriptions, and I swear to you, my doctor even gave me her personal cell phone number! I feel like I got a brand new really expensive toy as a present from my government! LOL! Best present ever!

So if you hate your health plan, move up here! It's my new favorite thing about Canada! Yay, Canada! Our country reeks of trees, our yaks are really large! (I hope someone gets that ;) LOL!)

I just got back from a nerve wracking trip to my friends at DogHouse Digital this past week. I know I don't talk about my job too much, and that's intentional. I don't want my LJ to wind up like my first MySpace did, where it's nothing but perverts who want to fuck me suggesting that they give me pointers on how to fuck on film. Thanks, pencil dick, but I think I've got that covered. ;)

Anyway, I went up there with no idea what was going on. They had called me and told me they couldn't tell me over the phone what it was, but they had a job offer for me that I might be very interested in and that if I came up and met with some of the higher ups over there, they would go as far as to even pay for my flight. Sounded good to me! LOL! So I got up there on Tuesday night. Wednesday around mid day, they brought me into a big, echoey conference room with two guys I'd never met before and Rick, my usual contact at the company. The three of them sat with me and explained that they were all really impressed with my enthusiasm at working with them and that, even though they hadn't been able to really do anything that could help my 'career', they really appreciated my working with them. If it wasn't for the upbeat nature of the meeting, I would have surely thought I was getting fired. LOL! But I was far from it! The two guys I hadn't met before both told me that they had heard lot of good stuff about me. Everything from me being really outgoing and always making shoots really super fun and easy for the crew to my surprising knowledge of the porn industry. They said they'd recently parted ways with an employee they had had from many years and needed to find someone to replace him, and they wanted to know if I would take the job.

Know what the job is? Watch porn. That's it! LMAO! DogHouse Digital not only films and releases their own shot in house product, but they also release other films that aren't made by DHD. They have a handful of people who's job it is to sit in front of a monitor and watch porn to see if it's something that they would like to release! Like an A&R guy at a record label! AND THEY WANT ME TO DO THAT! I was so excited I seriously was giggly the entire rest of the meeting! I have a little while to choose if I want to take it or not, and here's why I even have to think about it. DogHouse Digital is located in Montreal, Canada. And they would like it if I would consider moving there to do this job. Now, they've said I might be able to do my work from home, with regular week-long trips up there to touch base with my new bosses and see how things are going. And if I take it, I'll probably have to head up there for a while to train as well. I'm a surfer girl, and there really aren't any sunny and warm beaches in Montreal. Jenn, who I'm not going to leave over a job, would have to move with me, or we'd have the hardest long distance relationship I could imagine. And I'd be leaving my friends and family behind, which is a pretty tough thought since my mom and I are so close and I have some of the most awesome friends ever.

So I'm not sure what I want to do. The pay is great, the job is great and the people up there are all so nice, but I have a life down here that I've really struggled to make sure was as close to perfect as I could get it. I love my home, my friends and being able to run right across the street to get a Frappuccino if I want one ;) But also love this industry and it's been a dream of mine to work for a company like DHD for a long while. This is a HUGE life decision and one I'm not about to take lightly. I guess we'll see!

The more I think about the whole almost having my truck stolen thing, the more it freaks me out. First off, it doesn't really make me very confident in the abilities of the police around here to use their eyes or even really care to. Secondly, it really freaks me out how much Jenn was willing to jump right into a situation where she could easily have gotten hurt! We didn't know how that guy was going to react, but she immediately was confrontational. In one sense, it made me feel very safe and cared for. I know that if the situation arises where I'm in some kind of danger, she'll step in and try to stop it. On the other hand, it makes me nervous that she's able to be a dangerous individual like that. I don't want her to get hurt and she's admitted to getting into a couple scraps in her days. Am I weird for feeling this way? Do any of you feel like that about your significant others? It's like I want to be protected, but I don't want the protector to be harmed at all.

This weekend was so crazy fun and I can't believe I still haven't posted anything about it! Let's start at the beginning.

This past Sunday was Jenn and my 1 year anniversary! I still can't believe that not only am I in a wonderful, honest, loving and committed relationship, but that it's with a girl! LOL! I think I'm officially a lesbian now. I'm so in fashion! Anyway, to celebrate our year together, we went on a little mini vacation! Jenn took me Friday night down to this awesome spa resort near San Diego! It was so beautiful. They had this huge pool and our room was amazing! HUGE bed, a private balcony, big smooshy couch and even the bathroom was fancy! We pretty much spent the entire first night there naked and in bed. You know, celebrating! The next day we were lazy a lot and then in the afternoon we got these super rad full body massages! I'm still all relaxed from it! LOL!

Then on Sunday, we went to Sea World! I hadn't been there since I was a kid and it was just as fun as I remember it! We saw Shamu and penguins and all sorts of stuff. It was so much fun! And then, after spending another night celebrating since it was out actual anniversary, we spur of the moment chose to go out to Legoland on the way home and spend pretty much all of Monday there! Neither of us had been and it was kind of an adventure to just head over there on the way home. It's so awesome! i don't care what anyone says. It's my new favorite theme park. If it was just cities made of Legos, I'd be happy with that, but there's genuinely fun rides and Legos to play with all over the place! We went on these ships that you could shot water at people with and these awesome sky bucket type things that you actually control! Oh my god it was so fun. plus we bought a ton of Legos to build when we got home, which took all of an hour and a half because we were so excited! Greatest anniversary trip ever!

Then on Tuesday night, Jenn and I went to see Spiderman 3. We both thought it was pretty good, although if they had caked a little less eyeliner onto Peter Parker, it probably wouldn't have hurt. LOL! If you haven't seen it, you should just to experience that whole thing. It's funny, but it's hard to tell if it's supposed to be! Anyway, We saw it at the Long Beach Towne Center, which i've always thought of as a pretty nice place! When we were leaving, however, we saw a guy looking in the window of my truck! We were parked kin of far away from the main part of the Center and it looked like he was planning to maybe break in! I wasn't paying much attention and Jenn saw the guy first. She squeezed my hand and when I looked at her and saw she was looking forward, i looked in that direction and saw the guy. it took me totally by surprise and I stopped walking, but Jenn kept right on towards the truck. She kept a hold of my hand and kind of pulled me along. out of nowhere, she yelled at the guy, who stopped whatever he was doing and looked at us, but didn't really move. Jenn kept yelling and, without really even thinking, I joined in! We shouted at the guy, telling him to fuck off and get the hell away from my truck! As we got closer, he started backing up and by the time we were maybe 20 or 30 feet from the guy, he turned around and ran! It was so exciting and scary and my heart was pumping so fast! We scared off a bad guy! Two short girls with Starbucks and flip flops. We've dubbed ourselves the NEW Wonder Twins!
